About the show
Gerdan Theatre is a unique concert-theatrical project that brings the soul of Ukraine to life on stage. It is more than a performance — it is a journey into the depths of Ukrainian culture, where music, dance, and poetry merge into a single emotional tapestry capable of touching every viewer, regardless of age, language, or nationality.
For more than 30 years, Gerdan Theatre has carefully preserved and reimagined Ukraine's cultural heritage, transforming tradition into contemporary stage art. The performance is built as a thoughtful dramaturgical narrative, filled with symbols, imagery, and deep meaning. Ancient rituals, folk songs, original music, expressive movement, and theatrical action create a powerful experience, leaving the viewer with a sense of inner renewal and inspiration.
Gerdan Theatre is an emotional dialogue between the stage and the audience. There are no random movements or sounds here: every note and every gesture carries within it the stories of generations, the memory of ancestors, and the strength of a nation. The ensemble masterfully combines authentic elements with a contemporary stage language, making Ukrainian culture accessible and deeply resonant for audiences around the world.
A particular depth is added to the project by its human dimension. Several members of the ensemble serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the theater actively supports the country's defenders by donating part of its proceeds to the needs of the army. This gives every performance an added layer of authenticity — what happens on stage is not an abstract story, but the living reality of modern Ukraine.
Gerdan Theatre is for audiences seeking more than mere entertainment; for those who crave a powerful cultural experience: for lovers of music and theater, Ukrainian communities abroad, and international audiences wishing to feel the true essence of Ukraine — sincere, profound, and unbreakable.
The performance lasts approximately 95 minutes, including an intermis
